I haven’t posted a freebie in a long time, so here’s one for you. We celebrated Vivi’s birthday Sunday with a Tea Party at the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver. It was fancy, fun and way too expensive. Here’s my page, it took way too long to design this page that looks so simple.

Here’s the freebie, just download the image.

These are for personal use only - professional use is OK if the final pages are printed with me or you are a reseller. Enjoy and please post comments with links to layouts that you create with the templates. I’ll keep posting free stuff if I know you are out there and give me feedback!
I’ve included a psd file and seperate png files for those who can’t use a psd. Please download what you need.

I have created a new product and need a name for it. Use the comments to leave me name suggestions - make sure you leave me your real name and email so I can contact you if you win! We’ll leave the contest open until October 15, 2006. My favorite will receive one of these products for free! You can submit your own designed pages or just photos and I’ll plop them into the templates I have. You will get 16 pages total, 8 double sided 4″ x 4″ layouts. You can see a preview of some of the templates I have on my website, http://photobookmemories.com/themes.html click on 4×4 Mini Brag Pack.
Here is a photo of the product you are naming. It’s only the pages, which are 4″ x 4″ and laminated with 10mil glossy which makes them very stiff and sturdy. You can decorate your clasp yourself. The purse doesn’t come with!

I’m giving you all the purple snow mini pages as a freebie. Here is the preview, you can download it along with the zip file:

Photoshop brushes are versatile tools. They can be used to paint, sponge, splatter, ink and stamp. I made some baby feet to use in baby pages. I wanted them to look like stamped feet. I started with the feet shapes that come with photoshop. I added some black and reshped them a little to look more like real feet. Then I used some brushes to remove the black and make it look more like a stamp. A little dodge and burn, more erasing, selecting and deleting, etc. When I was finished, I had a pair of feet that were essentially grayscale. The white parts were white, but I need them to be transparent, the grays were gray, not transparent. So, to make it actually work like a stamp, I simply selected my artwork and made it into a brush. Under edit, define brush preset, name it and save it. Remember to save it in the brush pallette. Use the little arrow at the top right of the brush pallette and save brushes. Now I have a “stamp” for my baby feet. Here is a png file you can use for you’re own baby feet. Sorry the preview didn’t show up. Just click on, the png will open in a new window.

I’m working on some fun calendar pages. While designing, I like to build up my “tool box” so I have lots of nice useful parts to create stuff. Patterns are a designer’s best friend. They are especially handy for making digital papers. Creating them with transparency allows you to easily change the color and use the pattern as an overlay.
Create a new layer. Use shapes or whatever bits and parts you want to create your pattern. Turn off your background layer to reveal your transparency grid. Choose save pattern and you now have a new pattern with a transparent background!
Download a sample transparent pattern.
